Psychoeducational Testing

The Benefits of Therapy

What Is Psychoeducational Testing

Psychoeducational testing is a comprehensive evaluation that assesses an individual’s cognitive, academic, emotional, and behavioral functioning. These tests help identify learning strengths and challenges, attention and memory skills, problem-solving abilities, and emotional or behavioral concerns.

Commonly used measures include:

  • Intelligence & Achievement: WISC-V, WPPSI-IV, WAIS-IV, WIAT-IV
  • Memory & Executive Functioning: WMS-IV, DKEFS, Conners CPT, BRIEF-2
  • Behavior & Emotional Functioning: BASC-3, Beck Youth and Adult Inventories, SCL-90
  • Personality & Clinical Assessments: MCMI-IV, MMPI-3
  • Specialized Assessments: Autism rating scales

Testing provides a detailed understanding of an individual’s unique learning and cognitive profile, guiding interventions, academic planning, and therapeutic support.

Your Testing Journey

Our testing process is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of cognitive, emotional, and academic functioning. From the initial consultation to the final report, we guide you through each step with clarity, care, and attention to your unique needs.

Initial Consultation

Your psychologist will review your concerns, gather developmental and academic history, and discuss your goals for the evaluation.

Information Gathering

Background information may be collected from schools, teachers, family members, and previous records (with consent) to provide a complete picture.

Test Administration

A series of age-appropriate tests will be administered, tailored to the questions you and the psychologist want to answer. Testing may include cognitive, academic, memory, attention, executive functioning, emotional, and behavioral measures.

Scoring & Report Preparation

After testing, results are scored and compiled into a comprehensive written report outlining strengths, weaknesses, and recommendations.

Review & Follow-Up

You will meet with the psychologist to review the results in detail, discuss strengths and areas for growth, and receive recommendations. The psychologist can also consult with school personnel, physicians, or other professionals as needed and attend school meetings if requested.
