School Admissions Testing

The Benefits of Therapy

About School Admissions Testing

We assess a child’s cognitive abilities, academic skills, and readiness for placement in private or independent schools. These evaluations provide schools with objective information to support admissions decisions and help ensure a strong academic and developmental fit.

We administer commonly required IQ assessments, including the WPPSI-IV and WISC-V, as well as any additional tests requested by schools in the Philadelphia and New Jersey areas. Testing is conducted in a supportive, child-friendly environment designed to help children feel comfortable and do their best.

Why Seek Therapy

The Purpose of Admissions Testing

Many private and independent schools require admissions testing as part of the application process. These evaluations help schools better understand a child’s learning profile, including strengths and areas for growth.

Admissions testing supports placement decisions that consider not only academic readiness, but also a child’s social and emotional development. Results can also be shared directly with school admissions teams, helping streamline the application process and provide additional clarity for families and schools alike.

What To Expect

The Testing Process

Our testing process is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of cognitive, emotional, and academic functioning. From the initial consultation to the final report, we guide you through each step with clarity, care, and attention to your unique needs.

Building Comfort

Before administering any test, we spend time getting to know your child. We talk about their friends, school, hobbies, and interests to make them feel at ease and ready to do their best.

Test Administration

Your therapist will take time to understand your history, what brings you to therapy, how long concerns have been present, and what you’ve already tried to cope.

Results & Feedback

Together, you and your therapist will develop a personalized treatment plan and set goals tailored to your needs.

School Consultation (Optional)

Upon request, we can send the report directly to schools and consult with admissions personnel. We have strong relationships with many schools in the area and can provide additional context to help interpret the results.
